The members of Soberanía Patrol gave the war flag under which they had been sheltered to the President of Argentina. To pay tribute to the event, the flag is in custody in the Honour Hall of the National Flag Monument in the city of Rosario, in a box with a photograph of the historic event and a bronze plaque with the list of the founders.
A monolith with a replica of that plaque has been raised in the Antarctic Corner of the National Air Force Museum where historic vehicles and aeroplanes are shown.

By Resolution #1011/89, published in the Air Force Public Bulletin, the Air Force Chief of Staff congratulated the crew on this historic exploit and recognise them as FOUNDERS of the Base in laudatory terms.

The Congress of Argentina awarded the officers and non-commissioned officers (NCO's) members of the Soberanía Patrol with a medal and unveiled a plaque in Marambio Base which said : "...Tribute is paid to those who paved the way on the frozen land of the Nation with work, effort and bravery ".

The Ministry of Culture and Education of the Nation and also those of the Provinces included the date 29th October 1969 in the school calendar in order to be remembered in educational institutions as a historic event that will serve as a model for future generations. It mentions among its objectives : "To Remember this event of national, historic and geopolitical importance. To create awareness of this event which not only marks to our claim for sovereignty but also to the attitude of sacrifice and bravery that deserves to be remembered".
